Salvation: What it is & how you can get it. Do You Want to Become a Christian? Here is the plan of salvation simply told. Perhaps you have never made a personal commitment of your life to Jesus Christ. Here is what it means to be a Christian and how to become one. You must acknowledge that you are a sinner. Romans 3:23 says, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." You must recognize that there is a penalty for sin. God is just. He must judge sin. Romans 6:23 makes it clear. "The wages of sin is death." God has made provision for your sin. That provision is Jesus Christ God's only begotten Son. He died in our place, so we would not have to pay the penalty for our sins. Romans 5:8 says, "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." You must repent of your sin and receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior. It is not enough to merely believe with your head that Jesus is the Son of God, you must receive Him personally. The Bible says in John 1:12, "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become sons of God..." Salvation is a free gift. We cannot earn it, but we must accept it. Now, if you are ready to receive Christ into your life, pray this prayer: "Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life and ask you to come in as my Lord and Savior. I am sorry for my sins. I purpose to turn from them and to indeed walk in your ways. Thank you for cleansing me from all my sins. Take control of my life and help make me the kind of person you want me to be." Now that you have accepted Christ, please tell someone. Romans 10:9,10 says, "That if thou shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and shall believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shall then be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." I have accepted the Lord into my heart please pray for me..
